TWELVE EXTRAORDINARY WOMEN OF THE BIBLE
Since January, the CWIA Ladies have had a burden for a Bible Study Program for the ladies of the church. Mrs. Juli Watson discussed in the last two meetings that she had a burden to expand the Bible Study that we have each month in our regular meeting.
As we approach a fresh start of the year, we would like to invite you to join us the second and fourth Sunday of each month at 4:30pm in the church fellowship hall. This book by John MacArthur will challenge you and motivate you as you look into the personal lives of some of the Bible's most faithful women. We will see how the dealt with trials that we face daily. Mr. MacArthur shows us that the same God that helped them is still guiding us today.
If you want to join us, please contact us and we will coordinate your participation in this program. We would love to see you and have you join us during this exciting Bible Study. Please contact us via email for further information.
Christian Women In Action
Welcome to our “CWIA” information page. We are pleased that you are taking time to review our church website. Our Ladies are proud to represent Mount Vernon as we reach out to the needs of our church. As Christian ladies, we are reminded that we must serve with a Servant’s heart as Christ did when he walked among us. We too must find a way to serve others as He has and continues to do so even today.
Our ladies are responsible for wedding and baby showers, homecoming celebrations, Pastor Appreciation, holiday events (i.e. Valentines, Christmas, etc.), Thanksgiving Baskets for needy families, Relay for Life (at Gwinnett County Fairgrounds), etc.
The ladies are also responsible for coordinating and taking care of the elderly and shut-in members. This may involve taking a meal, sending cards of encouragement or just a simple phone call to cheer someone’s day.
One of the most enjoyable events that we sponsor is the annual Ladies Seminar. We plan one day a year to pamper ourselves and invite other visiting churches to attend the Ladies Seminar. We begin with breakfast, invite a motivational speaker, give door prizes, share prayer requests, and close the day with prayer and lunch! A good time is had by all who make the effort to attend. We come away from each Seminar encouraged and ready to do more for Him!
It is a joy and a privilege to serve as members of the CWIA and we find that the Lord blesses our efforts abundantly.
